DETAILS:

Please join us in sorting and placing oysters that will be used on an oyster reef on the bottom of the Indian River Lagoon. 

Volunteers will be sorting oysters for placement on an oyster reef in the lagoon.  Although this will be done on land and not a water activity, there could be a possibility for a couple volunteers to join the team to help place the oysters on the reef.  If that should be the case for those select volunteers, they must be comfortable getting into the water.

LOCATION:  Indialantic, FL (TBD - Exact location will be emailed before the event)

DATE:  July 10

TIME:  9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Registration is required for all volunteers. Participants must be at least 15 years old and able to work outdoors in full sun during their shift.

We strongly recommend long pants and long sleeves to keep your skin protected, plus a hat and sunscreen. Wet suits and dive booties will not be provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory (no flip flops, Crocs, Keens, etc.). Please dress accordingly for the weather. Please also bring with you a towel, water/water bottle (you can refill as needed from the water coolers but please note it is limited as we will be in the field for the entire day), snacks, lunch and whatever else you will need for the day.  Also, it's been advised that any jewelry be removed that can easily get snagged (i.e. rings, bracelets, necklaces).

A volunteer waiver will be emailed to you prior to the event.
