Please join us help make bags to hold baby oysters!
We are looking for volunteers ages 15 and over to help us make mesh bags filled with oyster shells that will be used in our oyster gardening program. All tools and instruction will be provided. You must be able to work outside during your shift. This is NOT a water activity. Volunteers will be filling the bags with oyster shell and some will be cutting the mesh bags.
Please wear clothes that can get dirty. Closed to shoes are mandatory, no flip flops, Crocs, etc. We do not provide water bottles so please bring with you a refillable water bottle. There will be water to refill your water bottle when needed. We provide light snacks but feel free to bring your own or anything else you will need for the duration of the event.
Location: across from the county jail at 4600 Dowling Circle, Cocoa (look for our signs)
A volunteer waiver will be need to be submitted in order to volunteer. If you have volunteered with us in 2023, we will need a new waiver submitted for the year 2024. The waiver and a reminder email will be sent a few days prior to the event. Please keep any eye on your spam or junk mailbox folder in case it is sent there.
