BREVARD COUNTY NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

The Brevard County Natural Resources Management Department, along with the County Commissioners, provides funding support to the oyster gardening project. That money has been used to purchase supplies for hundreds of oyster gardeners in Brevard County and project operational costs.

BREVARD COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION 

The County has assisted our program by providing facilities for restoration project activities like oyster growing and reef building.

CITY OF SATELLITE BEACH, FL

The City of Satellite Beach has been an instrumental partner in continuing the public education and engagement in our Restore Our Shores program. Through their donations, we have been able to provide regular oyster mat making workshops at the David R. Schechter Community Center.

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection helps with oyster mats project events and provided valuable input into the development of the shell recycling initiative.

FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission provides volunteer assistance and advisement for both the oyster mats and oyster gardening programs.

INDIAN RIVER LAGOON ESTUARY PROGRAM

A current financial supporter, IRL NEP provides staff and resource support while continuing to use social media to promote our initiatives.

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: INDIAN RIVER LAGOON AQUATIC PRESERVES

Department of Environmental Protection: Indian River Lagoon Aquatic Preserves is a partner of the Adopt-A-Mangrove program.

ST. JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT

The St. Johns River Water Management District is responsible for managing groundwater and surface water resources for 18 counties in northeast and east-central Florida, including the Indian River Lagoon. It provides funding for the oyster mats project through sales of its special lagoon license plate, also known as the “snook tag.” All proceeds from sales go directly to restoration and education efforts related to the lagoon.

U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service works to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. They offer financial support for our projects through grants.
