Oyster Gardening Supply Making
Event Chair: Restore Our Shores
DETAILS:

Please join us as we prepare for next year's oyster gardening season! We will be building both mesh bags that will hold baby oysters as well as the habitats that will hold the oysters throughout the year!
Volunteers must be over the age of 15. All tools and instruction will be provided. You must be able to work outside during your shift. This is NOT a water activity.
Please wear clothes that can get dirty. Closed to shoes are mandatory, no flip flops, Crocs, etc. We do not provide water bottles so please bring with you a refillable water bottle. There will be water to refill your water bottle when needed. We provide light snacks but feel free to bring your own or anything else you will need for the duration of the event.
Location: across from the county jail at 4600 Dowling Circle, Cocoa (look for our signs)
Date: SATURDAY, September 19, 2026
Registration is required for all volunteers. Participants must be at least 15 years old, able to work outdoors in full sun during their shift, and capable of bending and cutting metal. This can be a physically demanding task, involving lifting and bending.
We strongly recommend long pants and long sleeves to keep your skin protected, plus a hat and sunscreen. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory (no flip flops, Crocs, Keens, etc.). Please dress accordingly for the weather. Please also bring with you a towel, water/water bottle (you can refill as needed from the water coolers but please note it is limited as we will be in the field for the entire day), snacks, lunch and whatever else you will need for the day. Also, it's been advised that any jewelry be removed that can easily get snagged (i.e. rings, bracelets, necklaces).
A volunteer waiver will be emailed to you prior to the event.
