Oyster Sorting May 23rd

DETAILS:

Please join us to sort oysters that will be used on an oyster reef on the bottom of the Indian River Lagoon. 

Location:  Melbourne (exact location will be emailed to you a couple days prior to the event.  Please check your spam folder in case it ended up there).

Time:  9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Volunteers will be sorting oysters for placement on an oyster reef in the lagoon.

Registration is required and volunteers must be 15 years or older and be able to be outside in full sun during their shift.  Please wear closed toe shoes (i.e. no flip flops, Crocs, etc), clothes that can get dirty (long sleeve shirts preferable), hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.  Please bring your own lunch and anything else you will need for the day.  We do provide light snacks for breaks but you can bring your own if you prefer.  We do not provide individual water bottles, so please bring your own to refill as needed from our water coolers.

A volunteer waiver will need to be submitted in order to volunteer with us.  If you have volunteered with us before, we will need a new volunteer waiver filled out for the year 2024.  We will have extra at the event in case someone forgot to bring theirs.

*Please let us know if you need us to fill out a form verifying your volunteering time with us.  Please bring the form with you the day of the event, or we can provide you with one.  This will need to be done the day of the event.
